If you've recently moved out of residence at UBC Okanagan and think you've left something valuable behind, you've come to the right form. After completing this form, we'll need a couple days to actually find your possessions, so please anticipate us needing that time before we get back to you.
While we'll attempt to help you locate your items from your space, please know that certain items are discarded or may have not been present in the room at the time of us cleaning the space. Equally, some items are not kept at the time of our cleaning services entering the space. Here are some examples of what is discarded by our cleaning team:
- Food of any kind (perishable or non-perishable)
- Cleaning agents
- Opened hygiene products
- Opened containers of alcohol
- Unclean dishes, utensils, food containers, appliance, etc.
- Linen, bedding, pillows, towels, bathmats, garbage bins, etc.
Any items found in your space are kept for 30 days after residence closure (until May 28th, 2018). After that time, all remaining items are donated or discarded. It's also important to note that any items left were considered abandoned (as mentioned under sc. 1.16/1.18 of your Residence Contract), so while we will attempt to help you find your possessions if we have them, we may be unable to locate them.
